Team Swoop

We're a small team of Polar and Patagonia enthusiasts. We enjoy mountain biking, trail running, bird watching and generally exploring the great outdoors. Between us, we’re lucky enough to have visited the Arctic over 25 times, and John even lived just below the Arctic Circle for 13 years. When we're not exploring the Arctic, Antarctica and Patagonia - which we do every year - we love nothing more than talking to people who are planning their own adventure.

Our Story

It all began in 2006, after our founder Luke fell in love with Patagonia. Swoop, named after the Andean Condor, was born in 2010. Prompted by requests from customers to help them discover The White Continent, Swoop Antarctica launched in 2013 and we welcomed our third and final region, the Arctic, in 2016. We are proud to specialise exclusively in these three extraordinary destinations.

What our customers think

Why Swoop?

1. We Know The Arctic

As a team we have over 50 years' experience in the Arctic. As polar specialists, we’re lucky enough to visit the Arctic (and Antarctic) every year, so we know the strengths and weaknesses of every vessel and the ins and outs of every trip.

What this means for you:

We’ll save you time by guiding you through the maze of options, as well as giving you first-hand recommendations for where to go, when to travel and how to get there.

2. We offer you incredible choice

We work directly with a handpicked stable of outstanding Arctic operators, so we can offer you a choice of the best small ship cruises, as well as a mix of outstanding land-based trips.

What this means for you:

Whatever kind of adventure you're looking for, Swoop can help. We'll work with you to plan your perfect expedition: one that suits both your budget and appetite for adventure.

3. We're not biased towards any expedition operator, vessel or voyage

We are 100% independent and have no commitment to anyone but you.

What this means for you:

We'll listen to what you want from your trip and suggest carefully selected ideas based on your exact requirements. We don't charge for our advice and you'll pay no more or less than if you booked directly with the operator (more below about how we make our money).
