Why we like the Charcot cruise ship
- This ship is equipped with hybrid engines using liquefied natural gas, minimising the carbon footprint of your trip
- A strong focus on the expedition with a full programme of landings on each trip
- A great example of the expedition approach is the trip to the Geographical North Pole; this ship is a serious ice breaker
- One of the few ships to sail the full length of the Northwest Passage from Greenland to Nome
- Offers adventure and relaxation in equal measure, with an indoor pool, sauna, spa, and choice of restaurants and bars

Communal Areas
Le Commandant-Charcot has many common areas that are designed and equipped to provide the very best experience. In the reception area you'll find a photo desk and a boutique selling clothing, jewellery, beauty products, postcards and various accessories. The main lounge hosts a tea corner, a cigar lounge and a bar, whereby you'll be treated to live music on selected evenings. For soaking up the late evening sun, you'll get to choose between the open-air bar or the large bar and lounge offering startling panoramic views.
In terms of recreation, there is a library, an outdoor pool, an indoor poor surrounded by a lush winter garden, a fitness room, massage rooms, snow room, sauna, nail shop and hairdresser. You can also look forward to conferences and presentations in the theatre, fitted with state-of-the-art technology.
