Bear Island

Bear Island, otherwise known as Bjornoya, is the southernmost island of the Svalbard archipeligo. Despite its remote location, Bear Island has seen a lucrative commercial past, supporting the coal mining, fishing and whaling industries. It is also home to Arctic mammals, like the Arctic fox, and numerous species of bird.
