Life before Swoop
Growing up in Wales, I discovered a love for the countryside and the great outdoors. Surrounded by areas of outstanding national beauty and the Brecon Beacons right on my doorstep, I could often be found at the campfire at weekends or exploring the local area by bike, foot or horseback. With an eagerness to explore all things, be it woodlands, mountains, fields and water, there was never a dull moment growing up.

Why I love the Great Outdoors
Following my studies in Events Management, I took my curiosity further afield, travelling to South East Asia, Australia, New Zealand and Japan. By boat, moped and van I ventured from country to country exploring and working and exploring some more. My favourite part of visiting new places is foremost taking in the epic views, especially from the mountain tops following an exhilarating day of hiking. A close second would have to be tasting the local cuisine, usually alongside a well deserved cold pint after a day of exploring. In addition to my year away, I love to take smaller trips, visiting new places, trying new activities and experiencing new cultures. I think it is important to challenge yourself and push yourself outside of your comfort zone; this is where the most memorable experiences arise!
My next adventure
The opportunies (and the bucket list) are endless, but I must admit, hearing day in and day out about how incredible the Polar regions are, does give me itchy feet to experience it for myself!
In the nearer future though, I am looking forward to spending my year a little closer to home. I'll be heading back to Snowdonia National Park in Wales for some epik hikes and climbing and I also hope to make it up to Scotland later in the year to explore the North Coast 500!
