What was your most memorable moment?
The polar bears we encountered close to the ship. Especially the ones we met on the sea-ice. To get an insight to their natural life such as hunting, eating, being curious, falling asleep - that is something I will never forget.

Tell us about Zodiac excursions
I enjoyed them a lot and felt safe at all times. The expedition team was good at finding interesting spots and gave us time to observe animals that were close to us. Only complaint is that it simply took too long to get us in to the zodiacs. We stood in line in the very narrow mudroom too long. That was a bit frustrating. Maybe they could have divided us in to smaller groups or simply waited to call us down until they were ready to embark us in to the zodiacs.
Tell us about the expedition team
Mario was an exceptional good, skilled, and professional expedition leader - always with a smile and good vibe, but also always ready to switch to serious mode if a situation needed him to be. I felt 100 pct. safe at all times because he was our leader. All expedition team members were very friendly and professional and you were always met with patience and a willingness to share their knowledge with us. I will highlight Piotr though for being very knowledgable and engaged and for his 'calm vibe'. Heidi was incredible. Never met anybody so engaged and happy at all times (such an inspiration) and the level of knowledge about the wildlife we encountered was outstanding. You always hoped that she would be your zodiac driver. Ben was also one of my favourites. Being in his zodiac was fun and you always got to learn so much.
Do you have any tips or advice for other people planning a trip to The Arctic?
Let them know that this is not a relaxing vacation but an expedition. There is not much time to relax and you are very tired when the trip is over (which worked great for me but I'm not sure this is communicated enough beforehand).
Has your experience changed your perspective in any way?
YES! I loved the fact that I was reminded about what life is really about: pushing your boundaries! (again, Mario was such an inspiration here). Just go out and do things while you can. I definitely want to pursue that now. Already started to update my bucket list and make actual plans for making it all happen. I want to challenge myself more after this trip and get more experiences in life.
